This was our last night in New York and we picked this cozy spot for our last dinner. We were so pleasantly surprised with every aspect of this place. Food was awesome and the staff, especially Joe was TOP NOTCH. You can’t ask for better service than what we got. We had several appetizers and different ramens and the chicken rice bowl. Everyone loved the flavors of their meals and ate til we were stuffed! My kids said that this was their favorite meal out of everything we had in New York and we will be coming back here whenever we can visit NY again. Thank you Joe for an incredibly welcoming and joyful experience!
Excellent, family owned, Japanese restaurant with natural ingredients. We had dumplings and a dish with rice and chicken and vegetables. It was really good. If you’re single, you sit at the bar and it’s not crowded so you could have a private conversation with your guest and there’s no one else sitting in your lap (we had Donburi)

The ramen here is by far the best ramen I’ve ever had — the broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and every bite is an explosion of taste. But what truly sets Shokudo apart is the exceptional service. Woodlyne, the host, made our experience unforgettable with her warm and welcoming attitude. She really went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and her recommendations were spot on. If you’re a ramen lover, this is a must-visit spot. 10/10 would recommend — I can’t wait to go back!

Get the grilled eel and karage. The karage is super juicy just like the ones in Japan. The grilled eel is legit too; best I ever had.

The food was clearly prepared with care, and the flavors were spot-on. I'm already anticipating my next visit, which will likely be either tomorrow or sometime next week – that's how much I enjoyed it. This place has that special something. It feels like it has the potential to become my go-to spot. There's a certain authenticity and quality that shines through, making it stand out from other options. Honestly pleasantly surprised with the quality of food here. We wanted to have a go at Tonchin but as it was too crowded, this was our alternative and it turned out super wonderful - to be honest a strong challenger to the Ichirans and Tonchins of NYC, at a lower price point. It’s a nice cosy setting including a bar counter with little Japanese decos hung around to bring everyone into a mini Japan setting. Broth of Ramen was not too thick and really fragrant. Portions were incredibly generous. Noodles were well done as well. Only downside would be that the pork is more on the fattier side which is not really my preference. We did try the Pork Buns as well and turned out to be a fabulous option! Lovely service from the staff all round - thank you!
Really enjoyed our dinner. Ramen was delicious, creamy flavorful. Steamed gyoza very tasty. Kimchi was complimentary and probably one of the freshest I tried. Plate of pickles Japanese vegetable. And small rice bowl with eel. Finished with mochi for desert. Great food, very friendly and helpful service. Clean, quite spacious place.Highly recommend
